Heart #55 goes to...Marinated Skirt Steak at The Mad Batter Restaurant, Cape May, NJ

Heart #55 goes to Marinated Skirt Steak at The Mad Batter Restaurant in Cape May, NJ!  Must be all this talk about Alice in Wonderland that reminded me of the best marinated skirt steak I've ever had at The Mad Batter Restaurant.  The restaurant is located in the Carroll Villa Hotel on Cape May's historic Jackson Street.  If you've ever been to Cape May, but never been to The Mad Batter, put it on your list of restaurants to go to.  If you love skirt steak, this is the place to get it.  It is marinated in a dijon and brown sugar marinade with bacon and fingerling potato hash and haricot verts.  If you've never been to Cape May...you must put that on your list of places to go to before you die.  It is really beautiful!  I have had the skirt steak for the past three years and every year it never disappoints.  It is just as good as I remember it.  I only wish I had a picture of the dish...but I will get one on our next trip.  I can't wait for this summer!

Heart #53 goes to...Flip Mino HD Camcorder

Heart #53 goes to...Flip Mino HD Camcorder (2nd Generation)!  I love this!  I just got it for my birthday from my dear hubby and have been using it the last few days on a weekend trip we're on.  It's so small and compact, and so easy to use.  One button to turn it on, and it's ready in seconds.  Another button pops open a flip out USB arm which plugs directly into your PC or Mac.  When you plug it in, it automatically loads its own software for you to download, save and share your videos.  This new one has a 2 inch screen, compared to the 1st generation which has a 1.5 inch screen.  The buttons in the back are really easy...the big red button starts recording, the plus and negative zoom in and out, and the rest are for playback and to delete.  You don't even need to read any instructions.  The link above will take you to Amazon.com where you can find it for $181.54.  A great price considering I had just bought the 60 minute one by mistake from that bullseye store and it cost $179.  The one from Amazon is the new brushed metal 120 minute one for just a few dollars more.  The only other accessory I bought was a power adapter for $13 so that I can charge the flip when I don't have a computer around.  This is a must have item!  You'll never miss an important moment with this in your pocketbook!

Heart #52 goes to...Phuket Feeders

Heart #52 goes to...Phuket Feeders from In the Company of Dogs catalog.  These stylish feeders come in 3 sizes - Small $29.95, Medium $39.95, Large $59.95.  I love the colors.  I'm always looking to replace my dog's bowls.  We started out with a pretty big plastic two bowl feeder that was just big and bulky.  Too big for my 15 pound dog.  Then I switched to a much smaller one and didn't realize that I like to have more water in his water bowl, this bowl was just too small.  So now I'm in the market for a new one and I think these are it.

Heart #51 goes to...Winter Kate Kimono Dress by Nicole Richie

Heart #51 goes to...Winter Kate Kimono Dress by Nicole Richie!  I love long dresses like this, and the colors on this one are so pretty.  It won't be available until July 2010 but I found a website that is selling it for $242, actually you can preorder it.  I've seen this dress on a few websites for department stores and I have to say that the best picture of it is the one above with Nicole Richie.  It doesn't look quite right in any other ad.  Nicole Richie has it tied just right and it looks like a kimono.

Heart #49 goes to...Pillsbury Easy Frost No-Fuss Frosting

Heart #49 goes to...Pillsbury Easy Frost No-Fuss Frosting!  This stuff is the best.  It comes in 3 delicious flavors - Decacent Chocolate Fudge, Vanilla Dream, and Velvety Cream Cheese.  It's so much easier than the tub frosting.  You just aim the five star nozzle, squeeze and frost!  No mess and you can make designs or write on a cake with it.  What I like about it is the ability to frost each individual piece of cake or cupcake fresh.  No more hardened frosting.  Click on the above link to view a video and recipe!

Heart #46 goes to...Violight Toothbrush Sanitizers!  I used to have one of these, but it was a much bigger contraption and involved adding water.  It was just bigger and bulkier and so we got rid of it.  These new sanitizers are much more fun.  The ones shown above sell for $29.95 each or two for $53.90.  They come in a bunch of cute colors and also a few for kids...

Heart #43 goes to...Tasto Chip and Dip Set

Heart #43 goes to...Tasto Chip and Dip Set.  This is a great idea...a bowl for chips and three snap-on silicone cups (dishwasher safe) for different types of dip.  I also think it would be a great idea for individual dip cups, each person gets their own color and Double Dipping is Allowed!  This product sells for $35 if you are not a member of MoMA (The Museum of Modern Art) and $31.50 if you are.

Heart #42 goes to...Williams Sonoma's Sloppy Joe Starter

Heart #41 goes to...Williams Sonoma's Sloppy Joe Starter.  I am on a mission to try every food item I smell cooking in Williams Sonoma and this time it was their Sloppy Joe Starter.  It smelled great in the store, even better cooking in my kitchen and it was delicious.  All you need is 1 1/2lbs of ground beef or turkey and buns.  The rest is in the jar.  Their starter sauce "combines vine-ripened tomatoes, savory veal demi-glace, extra-virgin olive oil, sweet red bell peppers, garlic and spices."  It's priced at $14.95 a jar which is a bit more than your average supermarket brand but well worth it if you're looking for a different fresh authentic flavor.

Heart #37 goes to...BookBook by TwelveSouth

Heart #37 goes to...BookBook by TwelveSouth!  It's a hardback leather case for MacBook Pro.  I don't have a MacBook but I think this is really cool looking.  I love the vintage look of old books and this is a great way to protect your MacBook.  It's a great way to disguise it while it's in your bag or on your desk.  It sells for $79.99 on a website called TwelveSouth.  They do not recommend this product for the white MacBooks because of some issue with the inside of this case discoloring or staining the MacBook.  So for all you MacBook owners, head to this website for other cool accessories.

Heart #36 goes to...Ines Rosales Sweet Olive Oil Tortas

Heart #36 goes to...Ines Rosales Sweet Olive Oil Tortas!  Here's another product that I stumbled upon at my local supermarket.  I have passed these by many times and finally decided to give them a try.  They are a delicious sort of crisp bread sprinkled with sugar and flavored with anise and sesame seeds and 24% olive oil.  Besides the taste, what I love about them is that each one is individually hand wrapped in tissue paper.  They are a great companion to a cup of coffee or tea.  The sell 6 to a package for about $5.99.  Click here to view some pictures of how they are made.
Here is a description of the history I found on a website...

The Story Behind Ines Rosales

Ines Rosales started making these incredible crispy wafers in a town near Seville, Spain in about 1915. Widows of her village came to help her, business flourished, and over time the reputation of her product spread throughout Spain and Europe. Soon others were imitating her recipe, or attempting to! When she died in 1932 at the age of 42, she left behind a company whose reputation was protected by her name.
Today the traditional methods of forming the dough continue. It is portioned out and flattened by hand by local women, who must train for 3 months in the proper flattening technique, and who must take a break from their duties every 19 minutes. Now baked in a modern conveyer oven, production has moved into the modern age, somewhat, but the factors that really affect quality remain the same as they have for the past 92 years. After all, when you get something right, why mess with it?
